Song of Solomon 2:8-13: "Arise and Come Away"

I pray that you are able to hear these words meant for your heart, sister!  In these verses of the Song of Songs, the Bride speaks of Christ's relentless pursuit of her whole love.  She cries out,

"The voice of my Beloved!
Behold, He comes,
leaping over the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
My Beloved is like a gazelle
or a young stag."

My sister, how many mountains and hills do you think there are between you and Christ?  If you are like me, you have probably spent many sleepless hours thinking about your regrets and all the reasons that you and Jesus can't really be in perfect fellowship.  Please hear me, beautiful Bride:  A whole universe of wrongs cannot keep Jesus away from you.  If you will turn your heart toward Him, He will come running and leaping over hills and mountains to be with you and gather you close to Him.

"Behold, there He stands
behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
looking through the lattice."

Bride, Jesus has crossed all time and space to be with you, but He will wait patiently outside the wall of your heart until you invite Him to break it down.  This wall may be built out of many things.  It could be your guilt and condemnation.  It could be fear.  It could be made out of idols that you are too dependent on to give them up and run after Jesus.  It could be religion, or your trust in the church to act as a filter for your relationship with Him.  Let Him show you what the wall is made of.  He will be so patient, and He won't move too fast.  He waits for you outside, looking through the windows and asking you to let Him have your heart.

My Beloved speaks and says to me:
“Arise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away,
for behold, the winter is past;
the rain is over and gone.
The flowers appear on the earth,
the time of singing has come,
and the voice of the turtledove
is heard in our land.
The fig tree ripens its figs,
and the vines are in blossom;
they give forth fragrance.
Arise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away."

Oh beautiful one, the Bridegroom so desires to be with you!  You are so precious to Him!  Do not wear the veil of regret and sadness, for now is a time of joy and freedom and life in His Name!  The enemy desires to keep you rooted in the past, in those times of longing and loneliness and abuse and condemnation.  Those days are over!  The real Jesus is here, asking you to come away with Him and be His Bride.  There is nothing left to stop you!  Now is the day of flowers and singing!

Dear sister, let Him heal and satisfy your heart.  Go away with Him--He calls for you!  You don't have to go overseas to the mission field to go away with Him.  You don't have to go to a church to go away with Him.  You can stand where you are--in the kitchen, in the grocery store, in the classroom, in the workplace--and wear His love for you like a garland on your head, and respond to His call.  It does not require skill and effort on your part.  It only requires your invitation to let Him break down your wall, and your response to His invitation to go away with Him.
