A Song from Zechariah 5:1-4: Intruder

Zechariah 5:1-4 reads

I looked again, and there before me was a flying scroll.
He asked me, “What do you see?”
I answered, “I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”
And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished. The Lord Almighty declares, ‘I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by My name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’”

Intruder

Teach me to love the Word's disruption
To expose the wrong in me
And the curse becomes a blessing
To the lowly

Teach me to offer up the timber
And the stones to be consumed
Every stolen grace or lie
Everything that's not of You!

The Grace of God poured out in me
To break down my defenses and consume
Everything that's not of You

In the ashes of repentance
You will place the jewels of truth
You will build a perfect house
Made with only things of You!

And the Grace of God poured out in me
To break down my defenses
And to make Your home with me
Lovely, sweet Intruder in my life
Will You make Your home in me?
