Humble

This is a song I wrote a little while ago.  Please pardon my singing.

Humble

I'll humble myself under Your mighty hand
I won't try to get back up again
Until You lift me up
All I want is to wait and drink this cup
And eat all the food from Your hand
I'll eat all the food from Your hand

In Your hands now
To be burned and to be brought near and low
To be brought down, so You can lift me up
And I will have no life but Yours
Help me wait, help me rest in Your hands

Where else can I go?  Who else has the words of life, but You?

Though You slay me, still I will praise You, I will praise You.

If You must break apart my hollow, false righteousness in order to bring upon me Your righteousness, then have Your way.  If You must break the soil of my heart to cut out the roots of sin, then let it be done.  I am Your handmaiden, here for You and not for me, here to receive from You all that I have, all that I am.  I will humble myself here, for I bring nothing and I am in desperate need of You.
