New Year's Resolutions

Here are some prayerfully made resolutions for 2014.

To love Christ best.  To cherish Him above all that the world offers, all that my flesh desires, and even above the good things He has given me.  To love God more than I love Godliness, to love Christ more than His Church, to love the Shepherd more than the direction He leads me--and in this love, to find myself renewed and able to love the world, the Church, and righteousness better than ever.  Matthew 22:37-39

To die every moment of every day, and have no life but Christ's.  Galatians 2:20

To abandon every place of strength and self sufficiency, letting Christ be my only Strength and the One True Vine, apart from whom I can do nothing.  John 15

To be a watchman on the wall of Zion, taking no rest and giving God no rest until He establishes His people and makes their righteousness go forth as brightness.  Isaiah 62

To be merciful toward those who struggle and doubt, but remembering to show mercy with fear, not allowing the world to spend my life rather than God, who owns my life and alone has the right to spend it.  Jude 22-23

To teach like one emptied of her own words and filled only with His.

To learn in complete humility and insatiable curiosity.

To be utterly emptied of my petty preferences and shallow opinions, accepting correction and rebuke without resisting it.

To test and discern God's will, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

To be quiet before the Lord. Ecclesiastes 5:2
