Can I believe You are sovereign
In the pains, joys, even the very uncertainties
Of mine, which to You are certain
Which to You are certain
But yet You would stay and weep, laugh with me?
How You invade time and space
Wild joy in sunbeams and snowfall
Walk with us down broken roads
Your broken roads
But yet You transcend and master it all!
Can God be both Friend and Author?
Can He break to bind, tear to mend?
Can He be removed from mortal dilemma
Above dilemma
But yet wring from my dilemma
His story
His glory
My good?
Can You see me as I stand confined
Moment to moment, perched on the thin edge
Of reality, unaware of the worlds of truth
All around me worlds of truth
Resting in Eternity's grasp and pledge
And yet, here I am, locked out of Eternity
Peering through the window dimly
And I look beside me to see You
To see You
Standing here with me!
Stay with me, Sovereign Friend. Let us share the moments and smile toward Heaven.
