All That I Have

This song is based on Mark 14:3-9 (and the parallel stories in the other Gospels) when the sinful woman anoints Jesus' feet with perfume from her alabaster flask.  I usually play through this song as I'm warming up before a performance.  Each time I perform, my prayer is that I would have the heart of this woman, who broke her container and poured all of it out in worship--the best she had, and none of it held back.  When she was rebuked for her extravagance by the other disciples, Jesus defended her by saying "Leave her alone...she has done a beautiful thing to Me."

Vs. 1
Jesus, I can claim nothing greater than that I love You
I was made to worship You
Let my love be real, and let this be for no eyes but Yours
Let me be poured out!
You are so worthy; my gift seems so small

Chorus
But all that I have, and all that I am
I pour out in praise at Your feet
Just to make You smile, this simple, beautiful thing
I lay it all down at Your feet
Let me be emptied of myself, for there's no higher goal
Than to kneel in pieces of alabaster, pouring out my praise

Vs. 2
The power of Your grace, it shatters all my alabaster pride
Brings me to my knees
All my righteousness I now see as filthy rags
In the shadow of the cross
Love so amazing, so divine demands my life, my all!

Chorus
All that I have, and all that I am
I pour out in praise at Your feet
Just to make You smile, this simple, beautiful thing
I lay it all down at Your feet
Let me be emptied of myself, for there's no higher goal
Than to kneel in pieces of alabaster, pouring out my praise
